In overall good-to-very good used condition in a good dust jacket with only minor signs of age, handling and storage - dj rubbed to edges with several small nicks and chips and crease to front lower egde; red cloth boards a touch darkened to spine and upper edges but remain overall clean and crisp. Internally clean. Binding tight and appears little read; no annotation or inscriptions - owners name to front end-paper dated 1942; slight toning to page-ends but text bright and clear throughout. Not an old library book.

Sinopsis

Eugénie Grandet (1833) is a novel by Honoré de Balzac about miserliness, and how it is bequeathed from the father to the daughter, Eugénie, through her unsatisfying love attachment with her cousin. As is usual with Balzac, all the characters in the novel are fully realized. Balzac conceived his grand project, The Human Comedy, while writing Eugénie Grandet and incorporated it into the Comedie by revising the names of some of the characters in the second edition.

Sobre Hall of Books

We sell secondhand books and sheet music online and offer an eclectic (perhaps eccentric!) selection ranging from modern first edition hardbacks and quality paperbacks to the interesting, unusual and rare; the hard-to-find, collectable and out-of-print....and a lot more in between! We do our best to describe and photograph our books and music accurately, and to package them securely when they sell. We do not rely on stock images. If you need more information on a particular item, or if we have not yet uploaded a photograph for a particular listing, please contact us and we will respond by return.
