Was first published August, 1928, 10,000 copies. Taupe buckram spine covering with taupe cloth bound boards, gilt titled within scroll outlined panel on front with gilt design; gilt lettering on spine nearly rubbed off; very clean and unmarked, corners slightly pressed in. Tight and solid sewn binding. Bookplate on paste-down, front endpaper slit up from the bottom right next to hinge; very small pale library stamp on endpaper with discard stamp, no other lib marks. Frontis: portrait of George Bernard Shaw, onion-skin protected with black lettering on side opposite the portrait. Illustrated title page. Illustration plates, b/w and full colour. Pages very clean and free of any markings, evenly toned, double column format. 1928 European-writings of and about such personages and topics as George Bernard Shaw, George Meredith, Clare Sheridan, Mussolini, Anatole France, Trader Horn, Socialism, London Slums, Ethics, Literature, H.G.Wells, and many and much more. 398 pages. 8 x 10.75 inches.
