Boards lightly soiled and ink stained. Spine sun-faded, spine ends lightly rubbed. Corners moderately rubbed and rounded. Text block edges foxed. Quite cocked. Endpapers moderately tanned; hinges stretched. Occasional light soiling throughout volume.
Sinopsis
The Europeans concerns an expatriate American, Eugenia, and her artist brother, Felix Young. Eugenia is the morganatic wife of a German prince, but she is to be repudiated in favor of a state marriage; thus she leaves for Boston to make an appropriate match of her own.

I enjoyed this book immensely. It blended the old and new world creatively. It's philosophical underpinnings were interesting. It was not a bestseller at the time, moreover, it probably is now. I like books that use the English Language in it's old form.
