All edges gilt. The original owner's name - Wilhelm Stumps, and date, 1893 - is stamped in bright gilt on the front board in the center of a blind-stamped baroque design with ruled gilt margins Gilt title of ""Evangelisches Gesangbuch"" and fancy floral decoration fill most of the spine's space. The rear board also is stamped in blind. Endpapers decorated in an olive floral pattern. Musical scores and lyrics fill 465 pages, followed by a renumbered 1-98 pages of ""Episteln und Evangelien"" and other text. Indexed at the end, pp. 92-98.A later owner penned his name to the free front endpaper in 1960. 6"" high x 4-1/4"" wide x 1"" thick. Bound at the C B Woodward book bindery, St. Louis. All text is in German gothic Fraktur typeface.
