First printed in English in 1957. Translated from the Hebrew. "An intimate and loving report on the process of 'the ingathering of the exiles' into the State [Israel] over which the author has presided since 1952." - dust jacket. xv, 285 pages. Footnotes. Index. Black and white photographic plates illustrate the broad range of physical appearances of members of the many scattered Jewish communities the author sought to bring together. Brilliant gilt lettering and signature upon red cloth. Binding tight. Bump and one-inch opening to cloth at bottom of back board. Somewhat above-average wear to dust jacket which is now preserved in archival-grade Brodart. A sound copy signed by its distinguished author who served three consecutive terms as President of Israel, 1952-1963. EMANUEL p.49..
