Green pictorial clothbound folio [14.25 x 10.5 x 1.5 inches] complete with 32 full-page plates, including the frontispiece, 14 of which are colored, and 18 tinted a sepia / brown & white.

All full-page plates listed in the contents are present, as is every woodcut, which are listed separately.

Modest wear, soiling, spotting & discoloration to the covers and spine.

Most of the wear (rubbing, bumping) is on the edges and corners of the covers and spine. Note photos.

The binding remains fully intact and is holding firm, although, like any antigue folio, it should be handled with care and not opened any wider than is necessary to peruse the contents.

There is no writing in the book, and almost no foxing. There are a very few, seemingly random pages that have small, relatively insignificant spots of uncertain origin, and there are some tiny nicks or chips to some (relatively few) page edges. The pages are generally unblemished and even-colored, with very minimal "tanning" (noticeable darkening of the paper variously related to age, the composition of the paper, and the conditions where the book has been kept).

Extremely scarce. Less than a handful of first edition copies found currently on the market.
