Illustrations by L. Bennett, P. Philippoteaux, Matthis, many facsimile drawings and maps. X-Lib with small stamp on one internal page of each book and faded stamp on front endpaper of Navigators. Inside rear covers have light paper remains at extremities. Explorers has faint old dampstaining at bottom page edge of some end pages and inside rear cover. The red cloth has bled onto the inside front cover' s edge and the outer edge of the endpapers of the Navigators book. The covers have light soiling, rubbing and extremity wear with cloth worn through at tips; the spines are worn at the heads with fraying and shallow chipping; the spine cloth is dulled. The books are solid and otherwise clean. Rare, especially as a set.
