Sobre este artículo

England: Oxford University Press, 1924. First edition. Brochure/Pamphlet. Fine. 10" by 6". None. The first edition of this interesting lecture by John Galsworthy about expression and the use of language. The first edition of this work. 'On Expression' was pamphlet number fifty-nine published by the English Association. This lecture was delivered to the association in May 1924 by John Galsworthy, who was the president of the association in 1924. This lecture is an interesting analysis of expression and the use of language within the world and literature. Within his talk, Galsworthy looks at Shakespeare, Cockney, and the writing of Jane Austen. John Galsworthy was known for his work in causes such as women's rights, animal welfare, and prison reform. He also helped in a hospital during the First World War in France, after having been passed over for military service. Galsworthy is best known for his 'The Forsythe Saga', a trilogy about a family that deals a lot with class divisions. He won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1932, a year before his death. Some of his other works include 'The Silver Box', 'Justice', 'The Skin Game', 'The Fugitive', 'The Eldest Son', and 'Beyond'. In the original publisher's paper wraps. Externally, smart. Very minor edgewear and shelfwear to the wraps. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Fine
