New York: Harper & Brothers, 1909. The last book published by Twain, the story follows the long cosmic journey Captain Stormfield takes through heaven. Frontispiece illustration by Albert Levering with tissueguard. 121 pp. First edition with MCMIX on title page and 'Published October 1909' on copyright page. Red cloth covers with blue/white image of Captain Stormfield on his golbe-like ship. Cover corners are bumped and rubbed to boards, edges rubbed, small dirt smudges to cover faces. Spine is faded from sun exposure with white lettering nearly illegible, rubbing to joints, spine ends are bent and fraying. Darkened top page edge. Front hinge broken, break in spine between pages 42-3. Few interior pages have small smudges, otherwise clean. Back endpapers have light foxing. Book in Good+ condition. BAL 3511. First Edition. Cloth. Good+/No Jacket. Illus. by Albert Levering. Size: Approx. 5 1/4" x 8 1/4". Famous Author.
