Contemporary French cat's-paw sheep, the spine in six compartments with five raised bands, tan morocco lettering-pieces in two, a repeated floral panel in the remaining. A very good copy with light wear to the binding at extremities, some pale browning and intermittent spotting to text, one rust hole on s11 in vol. 1 catching a few letters. FIRST EDITION. This Jesuit relation chronicles violations held by Jesuits in their published writings and is divided into sections on writings against doctrine, sin, blasphemy, sacrilege, magic, astrology, irreligion, Chinese and Malabar idolatry, fornication, perjury, the occult, parricide and homicide, suicide, and regicide.
