Sobre este artículo

London: Arrow Books, 1971. Assumed First Edtion . Mass Market Paperback. Good. 255 Pages. Blue ink price stamp page before title page. Very light age tanning to pages. Otherwise tight straight book with no other marks or stamps. As Jack Hamilton ascended higher into the stratosphere, he could see the great ball of Earth spread beneath him. And it was standing still! Around it, in an orbit, swung a tiny mass of glowing matter -- the sun. It was the ancient geocentric universe come true -- a universe with Earth at dead centre and all other celestial bodies subseervient to it. lAs lhe rose still higher, he found that he was peering into a gignatic lake, a lake roomy enough to hold all Earth without a ripple. And then, with a shocked gasp, Jack lrealized that it wasn't a lake at all. He wa peering into a colossal eye -- an eye in the sky. He was trapped in someone else's personal world. a someone who seemed not very sane. A world of fundamental religion, ruled over by a crude version fo ann Old Testament God, where the sinners were miserable and the lrighteous, intolerant and inetolerable.

Sinopsis

“I have never seen [its] theme handled with greater technical dexterity or given more psychological meaning.”— Fantasy and Science Fiction When a routine tour of a particle accelerator goes awry, Jack Hamilton and the rest of his tour group find themselves in a world ruled by Old Testament morality, where the smallest infraction can bring about a plague of locusts. Escape from that world is not the end, though, as they plunge into a Communist dystopia and a world where everything is an enemy. Philip K. Dick was aggressively individualistic and no worldview is safe from his acerbic and hilarious take downs. Eye in the Sky blends the thrills and the jokes to craft a startling morality lesson hidden inside a comedy.
