Quarto. 123 (4)pp. Original green quarter cloth over paper-covered, red and white illustrated boards with black lettering. The red overprinting on the illustrated cover is offset from the rest of the image, giving the appearance of it being a 3d stereoscopic image, although this was likely a printing error rather an an actual attempt to make the image 3-dimensional. Decorative and geometric end pieces. Collection of more than 100 fables with lively b/w illustrations, published in Buenos Aries for the Yiddish-speaking community. Contains list of titles offered by publisher at rear. Text in Yiddish, Hebrew lettering. Spanish-language title page on the verso of the Yiddish title, and the back cover. Binding with light wear along edges, light soiling on front, moderate on back cover. This ex-library copy has a small sticker and marking. Endpapers and title page reinfornced along the gutter with japan tissue. Block age toned. Starting along gutter at page 7. Binding and interior in overall good- condition. Scarce. Protected by modern mylar. Yiddish title: פאבלען

Khayim-Yitshok Farber (b. 1889) was a Basarrabian-born Argentine Yiddish-language poet and writer. In addition to writing hundred of Yiddish-language poems and fables, he translated other poetic works into Yiddish, including Hayim Nachman Bialik, Yaakov Fikhman and Levin Kipnis.
