Rebound in handsome half morocco with new endpapers. WIth an engraved frontispiece and some small vignette illustrations throughout. The work contains translations of the First Book of Homer's 'Iliad', selections from Ovid's 'Metamorphoses', and Chaucer's 'Canterbury Tales', stories from Boccaccio and many more translations including original poems by Dryden himself. John Dryden was a notable seventeenth century poet, playwright, critic and translator. He is best known for being appointed England's first Poet Laureate. The pagination is as follows: [2], A-R12 ESTC Citation No. T124903 Rebound in half morocco with new endpapers. Light shelf wear to the edges. The odd small handling mark to the paste-downs and free endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages age-toned but generally bright and clean. Light spotting and scattered handling marks throughout.
