The covers are in very good condition, the interior is tight and clean although there are a couple plates that have a small piece out of the edge [nowhere near the image] and the paper is foxed in varying degrees throughout. General foxing throughout, some pages heavily, some mildly.. 2 Volumes bound in later 3/4 buckram with matching marbled paper covered boards and end-papers; includes a short biography of Gay, a list of subscribers, a one page advertisement. There are seventy [70] plates, each 3x4 inches [on 6.5x10.5 inch pages], 12 by William Blake. Six that have some hand-coloring; These new fables were invented for the amusement of His Highness William Duke of Cumberland. 187 & 225 pages.
