New York: Geo. A. Leavitt, 1870. Hardcover. 12mo. Blue blind-ruled cloth with ornate gilt spine lettering and decorations. 365pp. Frontispiece, illustrations, map. Very good. Some binding edgewear, mainly at spine head and tail; bright blue area on front board suggests long-ago rental library label; ownership inkstamp on front pastedown and front flyleaf. A tight and decent later printing of this 1865 text, a volume in this publisher's "Young American's Library of Modern Heroes" series. Rather worn, but a presentable and handleable early reprint edition -- and actually rather uncommon.
