Rebacked, with the original cloth boards and spine restored. Externally, generally smart, with evidence of loss to the spine and joints prior to rebacking. Spine is faded. Some light rubbing to the boards and spne. Discolouration to the tail of the rear board. Light bumping to the extremities. Faded damp stain to the front board. Artist's surname to the front board has been restored in gilt. Paste downs and endpapers have been restored. Light tide mark to the bottom edge of the paste downs and endpapers, offsetting a little to the following and preceding few pages of text, including the frontispiece. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with the occasional spot. Small tide mark to the bottom edge of the textblock, including plates, heavier to the first half of the volume. Title page is detaching. Gift inscription to the reverse of the frontispiece. Repair to the tail of page xv, no loss of text. Good

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
