The first edition of this uncommon work in the publisher's original cloth binding. Bookplate to the front paste down. Illustrated with a folding map, 2 plates and in-text illustrations. Collated, complete. An account of the Congo-Arab War by Sidney Langford Hinde (1863-1930), a medical doctor and colonial administrator in East Africa. 37 pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally sound, with small marks to the boards and shelf wear to the joints and head and tail of the spine. Hinges are starting but remain firm. Pages are generally bright, except for some offsetting to the end papers. Ink inscriptions to pages 79, 81, 82, 83, 85, and 273. Folding map has two tape repairs. Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
