Cassell & Company, 1883. Book. Fair. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Complete set of 4 volumes published by Cassell from 1883, h/b, 160pp in v.1-3 & 176 in v.4. Blue 1/2 (some say 3/4) leather bound (spine, 1" overlap to covers, and corners) with blue marbled covers. Fair/acceptable condition overall, no writing inside - there is a neat bookplate in each belonging to Mark Edward Makgill Crichton Maitland of distinguished family. Leather is worn at all extremes esp spine tops. Considerable foxing to early and late pages, lighter foxing in places throughout. Colour plates (approx 36 in each volume) are largely v.g. with tissue protection although some tissues are missing and one found torn and sticking to plate. All dingy along the top edge, firm bindings. Nice set given age. Heavy set, parcel or courier delivery, UK only..
