Vimariae [Weimar], Landes-Industrie Comptoir, 1846-1847. Five parts in four. 8vo (21.7 x 13.5 cm). Drophead title and four title pages, 999 pp. [23; xii, 152; x, 222; ix, 250; vii, 314]. Original, uniform printed wrappers. Rarely seen publications, of taxonomical importance, by the German botanist Max Joseph Roemer (1791-1849). Preceding the first part is the prospect, which is listed by Stafleu and Cowan as a separate publication. The last part, on Ensatae, is stated to be Pars prima, but a second part was never published. Perhaps Roemer was already in poor health by then. From the collection of Salm-Reifferscheidt-Dyck, with their small label "Schloss Dyck" on the spines, but otherwise unmarked. Uncut. Wrappers chipped at most spine ends, one binding weak; first part bumped and creased at lower outer corner, otherwise very good. Pritzel, 7718; Stafleu and Cowan, 9413-9414.
