Sobre este artículo
Delanco, New Jersey: The Legal Classics Library (Gryphon Editions), 2000. xxxix, 153 pages. Facsimile reprint of the scarce 1873 first edition. Special limited edition "Privately Printed for the Members of the Legal Classics Library." Bound in full dark green leather; marbled endpapers designed by Richard J. Wolfe; covers brass-die stamped in 22-karat gold design by Daniel B. Bianchi and Selma Ordewer; all edges gilt; integral ribbon bookmark. Great Britain does not have a written constitution, and Sir William Blackstone (1723-1780) was the first person to produce a comprehensive overview of British common law. Its influence was almost immediate and certainly immense, not only as a legal guide but as a literary document. The effect was profound not only in Britain but also in the United States--the U. S. Constitution was in many ways a response to both strengths and weaknesses of British law as revealed in the Commentaries. All 4 volumes are in virtually as-new condition.. First Edition Thus. Hardcover. Collectible-Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Book.
