Abner Dean. 8vo, green quarter cloth with gold lettering on spine over gold boards with leaf motifs, filled with amusing satiric poems and light-hearted cartoons by Abner, archival polyester-protected pictorial dust jacket (price-clipped), endpapers repeat leaf motif, 121 pages. Abner Dean (1910 - 1982), born Abner Epstein in New York City, was a commercial artist and American cartoonist. His artwork prompted Clifton Fadiman to comment, "His pictures are trick mirrors in which we catch sight of those absurd fragments of ourselves that we never see in the smooth glass of habit."<br/><br/>SUPERIOR CONDITION: tight, bright, clean copy in a bright dust jacket with light soil (mainly on its back pane). Book is filled with amusing jingles/doggerel with Thurberesque cartoons.
