In an attempt to deal with the farm price and surplus problems, President Hoover created the Federal Farm Board. It was designed to allow cooperatives to hold crop surpluses and market them in an orderly fashion. One of the first important acts of the farm board was setting up a $20 million grain sales corporation, headquartered in Chicago. This book sets forth problems facing agriculture and the scope of the Agricultural Marketing Act.
