London: Scholartis Press, 1928. No dustwrapper, some wear to ends of green cloth spine strip, some bumping to corners of green paper-covered boards and some old water-marking to bottom edges of same. Some yellowing to page edges, but otherwise a good tight copy, with some pages uncut, of this hard-cover book, an episodic sentimental novel originally published in 1771. . One of 1475 copies issued in this form by the publisher (there were also 75 numbered copies on handmade paper). Scholartis Press, operating between 1927 and 1931, was founded by Eric Partidge who later became better-known as a lexicographer specialising in slang. Introduction by Hamish Miles. 208pp.. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
