Madrid: Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores; SEACEX. b/w and color plates, ports., cat., bio/chron., color pict. fldg. wrps. Retrospective exhibition of the abstract work of painter Freito (b. Spain 1929) member of the historic group El Paso, an art movement responsible for restoring the international prestige of avant-garde Spanish art following the Civil War. The works presented in these first two venues of the itinerant exhibition (San Juan, Puerto Rico and Lima, Peru) were done during his most representative periods: acrylic paintings in canvas paintings on paper and engravings of non-figurative art considered by many as mystical.
