Illustrator: Jacques-Henri Lartigue -- Photographer. 400 g; VI, 96pp., 8 pages with small biographies of women photographed, foreword by photographer, biographies and acknowledgements. Blue coloured endpapers. The first 6 and the last 8 pages have been printed on a rough textured brown coloured paper. Within the text there are 96 photographs of women smoking taken by the photographer Jacques-Henri Lartigue. Black coloured boards with gilt writing on the front panel and spine. A little wear to the top and bottom book edges and there are some dust marks to the top paper edge. Photographic dustwrapper, showing Jeanne Montange, against a black background with purple and white writing on the front panel and white on the spine. The dustwrapper is rubbed, and faded. Rubbing along all edges of the dustwrapper and there is some chipping to the top spine edge. Designed and Produced by Sheldon Cotler Inc. New York: A Studio Book. The photographer Jacques-Henri Lartigue took these photographs in the early months of 1927, in Paris, when women seen smoking was considered funny.
