FIRST EDITION. Bristed writes vehemently against the prospect of a railroad along Fifth Avenue: "the mischiefs which a railroad on the Fifth avenue would inflict on the residents there as householders, are so obvious, and in many respects so analogous to those which a railroad on Brodway [sic] would inflict on the owners and occupiers there, that we may pass them over to save time and space-the more readily because, great as they would be, they sink into insignificance before the harm done the avenue as a thoroughfare for private vehicles."
