NY: Crown, 1960. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/Good. q. 1st printing. Cloth. 343pp. One of the classics of railroading fiction. We grade this copy good in a good dj, but it could easily be graded higher. Moderate wear to head & toe of spine. Dark area top fore edge of spine. Dime-sized splotch upper corner of rear free endpaper matched on the facing paste down. Dj with narrow chipping to head & toe of backstrip and some light edge wear otherwise. NOT backstrip faded. Certainly not a "mint" dj, but easily graded good and would be acceptable for collectors who don't need a perfect copy. Original price unclipped on dj flap. Publisher's narrow clips to flap corners front and back. Pencil mark over price & old resale-shop .59 (cents) penciled in. Oh don't you wish! Scarce.
