Printed by James Ballantyne & Co. for Archibald Constable and Co., Edinburgh; and Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme, and Brown, and John Murray, London. 56, 4, [2] p.; 23 cm. Original plain wrapper; pages are untrimmed. Advertisements of printer and publishers on 7 pages following text. Pages 55-56 contain Ballantyne's list of Works of Walter Scott, Esq. The following 2 pages contain an advertisement for The Works of Jonathan Swift with notes and a life of the author by Walter Scott. The next 2 pages contain an advertisement, dated Sept. 1815, for vol. 1, part 1, of the supplement to the 4th and 5th editions of the Encyclopaedia Britannica. The final unpaginated page contains proposals for publishing prints by Richard Sasse of the Battle of Waterloo and the defence of Hougoumont. Former owner's name inscribed on front fixed endpaper: "Wm. Dallas." In Good Condition: wrapper is stained, chipped, and separated along spine; stain at lower pages edges, which are chipped; light soiling at page edges.
