Two volumes, bound in publisher's original red cloth decorated in blind with spines lettered in gilt, housed in a custom matching slipcase. Very Good with wear to cloth and shallow loss to top of spine of Volume 1, short superficial splits to cloth at joints. Former owner names to front free endpapers and bookplate to front pastedowns. The best known work of English historian E. S. Creasy, and a one of the most influential works on military history ever published.
