Abbreviations, errata, notes, bibliography, index, fold-out maps. The spine of the dust jacket is lightly soiled and has two puncture marks, there is a small scratch on the spine, and a previous owner's name in ink on the front fixed endpaper. "In recent years historians of Lancastrian and Yorkist England have paid increasing attention to its society and institutions. The present work aims at a restatement under narrative form of English history in the light of this study, although many of the conclusions must still remain provisional....
