Sobre este artículo
London: Heinemann, 1913. Bound in the publishers original coarse green cloth with gilt title lettering to spine and front board. This scarce and famous Beerbohm title consists of forty eight excellent tipped in illustrations in the inimitable caricature style that made the author such a celebrated artist and celebrity in his own right. This is the second impression of the first edition and this is duly stated as such on the verso of the title page as called for. The book is published in exactly the same format as the first impression. The publishing statement reads: First published October, 1913. Second impression January, 1914. Illustration in gilt adorns the front board. All pages are present and correct with no inscriptions and are tightly bound. Book sits square and solid. A little light rubbing to the very extremities of the hardy green cloth biniding otherwise the condition of book is very good. Each illustration tipped onto heavy, high quality brown artpaper. One illustration to just one side of page leaving each verso blank. A particularly well made volume which has stood the test of time admirably well. Well known political and social characters of the day include Bernard Shaw, Rodin, Lord Rosebery, Lord Chesterfield, Irving, Asquith and a particularly amusing and exacting drawing of a young and rather trim Winston Churchill. A very attractive and well crafted copy indeed of an imaginative and skillfully realized book which portrays wonderfully the characters of Britain in that unique era. Photographs are available at your request. Becoming quite a scarcity.. First Edition. Very Good. Illus. by Max Beerbohm. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 2nd Impression.
