Separately Issued reprint containing Holmes's observations of his tenure at Howard University, in two parts and here collected together. Holmes, a native of West Virginia, was the Dean of the College of Education at Howard in the 1920s and early 1930s. Holmes career was devoted to research and writing upon Black education in America. He was strongly affiliated with Howard and later became the President of Morgan State College. See DANB for his extensive profile.
