Sobre este artículo

New York: John Day, 1936. first edition. hardcover. very good: mild shelfwear to boards and spine, writing and stamp on FFEP, mild toning, text clean, binding tight./good: edge and corner wear, chipping with some loss, clipped.. 8vo 302pp. from front flap: "Companion volume to The Exile, which is a biography of the author's mother, Fighting Angel is a biography of her father. The extraordinary fact is that while these two lived together for forty years and had seven children, yet they lived utterly separate lives, so that the tale of what the man did and thought does not in the least duplicate the story of the woman." #01086.

Sinopsis

Pearl Buck wrote this biography of her father, an American missionary in China. Renamed Andrew in the book, Buck's father was sent out to China in 1879 just after graduating seminary school. He spent much of his time there translating the Bible into the various forms of Chinese to extend the reach of the mission.
