Leather spine label in second compartment with gilt-tooled title: Lamb's Works. Leather spine label in third compartment with gilt-tooled volume number. Gilt-tooled decoration in remaining compartments. Marbled paper over boards. All page edges marbled. Marbled endpapers. This is volume 5 from the five-volume set The Works of Charles Lamb. Contains letters, not previously published, from Charles Lamb to Coleridge, Wordsworth, and others. In Very Good- Condition: edges and boards are rubbed with minor loss at head of spine; loss of marbled paper along lower edge of front board; lacking lower section of final page of text, without loss of text; writing in pencil on back free endpaper; foxing, primarily on a few early pages; otherwise, clean and tight.
