Brophy frequently campaigned for social reform and wrote a number of fiction, fantasy and non-fiction works including collections of thought provoking essays. This set includes; 'Finishing Touch', a story about a finishing school on the French Riviera who hears that royalty will be coming, 'The Burglar' a novel which follows a burglar who breaks into a flat and stumbles upon an adulterous couple,''Palace Without Chairs', a fantasy about a magical modern kingdom full of adventure and unique characters,'Baroque -'n'- Roll', a collection of essays. In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper to all but 'Burglar' and 'Finishing Touch' which are clipped. Externally lovely to 'Finishing Touch' and excellent to the rest with slight fading to the head of 'Burglar' and 'Baroque' and light bumping to the head and tail of 'Palace' with a slight lean. Age toning to the extremities of the endpapers to 'Baroque' with very minimal marks to the extremities of 'Burglar'. The wraps are very smart with slight marks, lightest to 'Baroque' and very minor creasing to the extremities to all and a very small closed tear to the tail of the rear to 'Baroque' and light sunning to the spine to 'Finishing' and 'Palace' adn to the head of the rear to 'Baroque'. Internally firmly bound with bright and clean pages to all but 'Baroque' which is age toned to the extremities. Spotting to the top edge to all but 'Baroque'. Very Good Indeed
