This is a separate issue of a section of the "Bulletin of the Bureau of Fisheries, Volume XXVI, 1906, Pages 219 to 360, Plates XIV to XLII. Bureau of Fisheries Document No. 624 Issued December 6, 1907". During "an investigation of the salmon fisheries of Alaska...during the summer and fall of 1903 by a special commission appointed by the Commissioner of Fisheries...large collections of fishers and other aquatic animals were secured, however, and much information concerning the habits, abundance, and distribution of the salmon and other fishes. It is the purpose of the present paper to put on record the more important of these facts and to discuss more fully some of the chief problems connected with the salmon fisheries."
