Sobre este artículo
London: Faber and Faber, 2001. First edition. Cloth. Fine/Fine. 9" by 5.5". None. A fine, first edition copy of this novel by award winning author, Mick Jackson. 'Five Boys' is set during the second world war, and is Jackson's second novel. Signed by the author to the title page. With the very scarce wraparound band to the dustwrapper. This novel follows five boys, whose village has not been the same since an evacuee arrived. The village has a whole host of visitors, Americans preparing for D Day, a deserter in the woods. However, the Bee King makes an arrival and is a law unto himself. This novel appears following Jackson's celebrated first novel 'The Underground Man'. This novel gained him a place on the Man Booker Prize Shortlist and he was awarded the 1997 Whitbread Award. In the publisher's original boards and in the original unclipped dustwrapper. With the wraparound band. Externally, in an excellent condition with minor shelfwear. Dustwrapper is also excellent with minor shelfwear. A few light marks to dustwrapper. Internally, the work is firmly bound. Pages are slightly age toned to the edges, as is usual. Otherwise, pages are extremely clean. Fine
