Sobre este artículo
Boston: Bradford & Read, 1815. Scottish neuroscientist George Fordyce (1736-1802) did work on phantom sensation in amputated limbs. A Fellow of the Royal Society, he was friends with Joshua Reynolds and Samuel Johnson. This is a Very Good copy of the First American Edition (stated on Title Page). A rare book; all copies held institutionally are electronic or a later midcentury edition. Stiff paper covers; paper label on spine. Although extensively spotted, the text is quite clear and readable; 442 pages, with the Table of Contents and an Advertisement of the author's other works in the rear. Most pages are unopened. The lectures are "Simple Fever" (London, 1800); "Regular Tertian Intermittent " (1802); "Regular Continued" in two parts (1798 & 1799); "Irregular, Intermitting" (1802); "Irregular Continued" (1803); and a "General Conclusion." Bumped, and the spine worn and chipped, with a chip to the paper label; penciled notations on front paste-down and free endpaper. First signature is rather tender. Although the book is sound enough, Quercus feels that it deserves some restoration and a rebind to preserve it in a suitable manner.. First American Edition.. Soft Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
