All feature Nero Wolfe, New York City's beer-loving, orchid-growing, overweight private detective and resident genius and his wisecracking assistant, Archie Goodwin: "The Rubber Band" and "In The Best Families," both considered among the best of Stout's work, and "Door To Death," "Man Alive," and "Omit Flowers," previously issued as "Three Doors To Death." Bottom of spine lightly bumped, o/w boards and text are clean and unmarked, tight and square. The dustjacket shows some soiling and staining, especially on the spine, with wear at the edges and corners and some chipping and tearing at the spine ends though none of the lettering is missing. If you have not yet had the pleasure of Wolfe and Goodwin's company, this is an excellent introduction.
