In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, with a few light marks to the boards, including a couple of small damp stains to the front board. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Spine is a little discoloured. Rear hinge is weak. Front hinge is starting but firm. Spots to the endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age-toned and clean. Closed tear to pages 97 to 100. Good

Five Weeks in a Balloon, or, Journeys and Discoveries in Africa by Three Englishmen is an adventure novel by Jules Verne. It is the first Verne novel in which he perfected the "ingredients" of his later work, skillfully mixing a plot full of adventure and twists that hold the reader's interest with passages of technical, geographic, and historic description.

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
