Sobre este artículo

London: Oxford University Press, 1967 . First edition. Cloth. Very Good Indeed/Near Fine. 8.5" by 5.5". Victor G. Ambrus. An illustrated, first edition of the first in K. M. Peyton's 'Flambards' series, in the original, unclipped dust wrapper. First edition, in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original, unclipped dust wrapper. Written by Kathleen Peyton, or K. M. Peyton, who is most known for her fiction for children and young adults. She is most remembered for her 'Flambards' series of four novels, of which this particular work is the first. This series was so popular that it was adapted into a television series, entitled 'Flambards', starring Christine McKenna in 1979. This romance novel is set in Edwardian England, and follows the life of orphaned wealthy heiress, Christina Parsons. Christina lives with uncles and cousins, surrounded by horses in rural Essex, with conflicts in her life becoming apparent as she grows up. With vignettes throughout by Victor G. Ambrus, known for his illustrations in folk tales and animal stories. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original, unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, lovely, with minor shelf wear only. Light offsetting and the odd spot to endpapers. Dust wrapper excellent, with light edge wear and a touch of sunning. The odd handling mark to the wrap, with light spotting to the reverse. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Very Good Indeed
