London: Cassell and Company Limited, 1936. First Edition, First Impression . Cloth Bound Boards. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 1936 First edition, first impression. Size octavo, 352 pages including index. Blue cloth covered boards with gilt titles to the spine, top page edge blue, with dust jacket. Book condition very good, corners slightly and hinges rubbed, a few spots to page edges and first and last few pages, pages toned otherwise clean throughout. Dust jacket condition very good, corners and edges rubbed with a few minor chips head and tail of spine brittle and torn with loss of 1cm at head of spine and half cm at base of spine, spine sunned, a few light spots, Malcolm Elwin has written a few review notes on the front panel, not price clipped. This copy was the review copy belonging to Biographer and Critic Malcolm Elwin (1903-1973) and the original review slip from Cassell and Company is loosely inserted and Elwin has made a few ms review notes on the front panel of the dust jacket.
