Sobre este artículo
Akron, Ohio: Saalfield Publishing Company, 1930. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good-. Book #3 in this publisher's "Mystery and Adventure Series,'' a vast collection of books for boys (& girls) in the early 20th century by various authors. Similar to books produced by the Stratemeyer syndicate, these Saalfield books were produced from 1900-1977 by a stable of writers, typically using pseudonyms. "Hugh McAlister" was actually a woman, Margaret Lee Alison Johansen. A FIRST EDITION from 1930 (unknown printing), in 252 pages with a plain frontispiece artist unattributed), this hardcover small 8vo has bright orange-red cloth-covered boards lettered in black to front & spine & stamped with an image of a dirigible to front board. Condition is Near Fine: exceptionally clean & crisp, binding strong & straight, front hinge cracked. Old gift inscription dated 1939 in pencil to ffep; else, pages unmarked, but heavily tanned, commensurate with age & paper quality of the era. The unclipped DJ is VG, with brilliant artwork featuring a fleet of dirigibles in a crisp, linear, Art Deco style. Many small chips & modest rubbing to extremities; beautifully protected in new clear mylar cover for your collection! Our photos depict the exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same day shipping on all orders received by 2 pm Weekdays (Pacific time); later orders, Weekends & holidays ship very next business day.
