New York: Galeria Bonino, 1967. Exhibition catalog for an installation of work by avant-garde film director Robert Breer held at the Galeria Bonino from November 14 to December 9, 1967. The catalog deals with Breer's "floats," three-dimensional geometric shapes that the director would construct, then roll down a street as one would a float in a parade-though typically Breer chose rural roads as a means of offsetting the sheer modernity of his objects. This catalog ends with a list of Breer's exhibitions between 1926-1967. Near Fine in saddle stapled wrappers, with light rubbing.

New York: Galeria Bonino, 1967. Complete set of four matching exhibition catalogs for a staggered series of installations by avant-garde film director Robert Breer, held at the Galeria Bonino in New York between 1965 and 1970. The first catalog is for an exhibition at the gallery titled "Constructions and Films," and was held in early 1965, noted as Exhibition No. 10. The other three catalogs deal with exhibitions of Breer's "floats," three-dimensional geometric shapes that the director would construct, then roll down a street as one would a float in a parade-though typically Breer chose rural roads as a means of offsetting the sheer modernity of his objects. Each catalog ends with a list of Breer's exhibitions to date. These three exhibitions, titled "Floats," "More Floats," and "93 Floats," were held at the gallery in 1966, 1967, and 1970, and are labeled Exhibition Nos. 18, 29, and 44, respectively. All four volumes Near Fine or better, each in saddle stapled wrappers, with light occasional rubbing.

London: Factory Records, No. FAC235, 1988. First Edition. Near Fine. Publisher's stiff printed wraps bound by two black plastic screws. First edition. Near Fine with very faint creasing to front wrap, a little shelf wear to rear wrap. From the collection of "design guru" and notable collector of postmodern objects Jim Walrod with his emboss on the first page. This rare flipbook was produced for the Manchester band New Order, whose avant-garde dance music epitomized the postmodern blending of high and mass culture, for one of their biggest hits: the moody techno song "Blue Monday." Copies were sent out for friends of the Hacienda, Factory Records' head honcho Tony Wilson's Situationist-inspired nightclub. It was co-designed by William Wegman, famous for his portraits of his own dogs. Filmmaker Robert Breer created an animation of one of Wegman's Weimaraners to be flipped through (presumably along with the song) in a kind of "manual video." Music videos were all the rage at the time. Madchester,…

New York: The Museum of Modern Art, 1971. Sculpture tested, but not working, otherwise appears near fine. Box with long, closed tear at the top fold, some creases, and overall signs of light wear. Scarce.. Limited Edition, number 9/10. Motorized plastic sculpture in stenciled and spray-painted cardboard box. SIGNED and numbered on the battery case door at the base of the sculpture. Apparently a limited edition release of the more common white Float sculpture also issued by MoMA via their gift shop. The spray-painted stencil reads "E.A.T. / BLUE / 9-10 / R.B. '71". Dated a year after his seminal work on the Pepsi Pavilion, created by Experiments in Design and Technology (E.A.T.). In addition to the animations for which he is best known, Robert Breer also created a series of "floats", motorized abstract shapes that he would parade, often through rural landscapes. This MoMA edition represents a miniaturized version of the Float sculpture series. Manufactured by Bandai, the Japanese plastic toy producer.
