Illustrated papered boards over pale blue quarter-cloth with gilt titling and decoration; with light age-soil, light to moderate edgewear, rubbing, a little dulled to spine. Spine square. Binding cracked slightly at title page, but intact, and elsewise sound. No jacket, if issued. Pages bright, text unmarked.
Sinopsis
Flower fables was the first work published by Louisa May Alcott and appeared on December 4, 1849. The book was a compilation of fanciful stories first written seven years earlier for Ellen Emerson. The book was published in an edition of 1600 and apparently sold well although Alcott received only about $35 from the Boston publisher, George Briggs.
