We haven't been able to find this exact version selling online anywhere. It definitely appears to be a very early edition, but we haven't been able to find conclusive evidence of which edition this one is. The pages, binding, spine, and edges of the book are in very good condition. There's a stamp from the Theosophical Society of Portland, OR, and one small inscription in pencil on the same page (see photos). 100% guaranteed that condition is as described. Sinopsis
Flower fables was the first work published by Louisa May Alcott and appeared on December 4, 1849. The book was a compilation of fanciful stories first written seven years earlier for Ellen Emerson. The book was published in an edition of 1600 and apparently sold well although Alcott received only about $35 from the Boston publisher, George Briggs.
