New York: Dodd, Mead, 1912. Thurston's account, perhaps romanticized, of his travels along England's inland waterways in a canal boat. First U.S. edition. Contains six full color plates painted from the author's photographs and numerous black and white illustrations by Dakin. Green boards with a decoration of a canal boat on the front, gilt to the upper edge of the text block. Rubbed with a bit of wear at the edges, spine and edges of the boards darkened. Binding square and solid, previous owner's gift inscription on the front end paper, dated Dec. 25, 1912.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. Illus. by Dakin, W.R..
