In this novel, British author, soldier, and travel writer Peter Fleming (1907-1971) imagines Hitler unexpectedly flying to Britain to propose peace with the country. (Peter was the elder brother of Ian Fleming, creator of James Bond.) The book is considered a scarce and notable work by Fleming, and is illustrated by renown cartoonist David Low. Early printing with matching dates on title page and copyright page, but lacking Scribner's "A". Octavo, 128 pp. Yellow cloth. From private collection. No inscriptions or signatures. Dust jacket shows price of $1.50 and is worn along spine ends and edges.
