Sobre este artículo
New York: Random House, 1948. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/no jacket. shelf wear to tips, corners, and edges of the book, a small stain or rub at the top front corner, previous owner's emboss and inked date to the half-title page; no jacket. Tipped in is a letter from the Commandant of the Marine Corps regarding the book which was distributed free to men and families of the Second Maines. Laid-in is an article from Leatherneck Magazine about Wyeth Willard, a Navy chaplain who was the only one of eight chaplains to survive Guadalcanal. Willard also went ashore with the Marines at Tarawa. According to the article he is credited with having served more consecutive days under constant enemy fire than any chaplain in the history of the U.S. Navy.. From the foreword: "In preparing the story of the Second Marine Division, the author and the members of the Division History Board have had one paramount aim: to tell it, insofar as possible, 'the way it was'. This has meant including a good deal of material which will not interest detached students of military history; it has meant leaving out some details which would be of interest only to such students." Every effort is made to ship all books and other items within 24 hours. Clean recycled packing material will be used when possible.
