New York: Henry Holt and Company, 1988. First edition. Hardcover. Very good +/very good. SIGNED. 485pp. Octavo [23.5 cm] in boards over cloth spine. Minor bruising at the spine ends. Very light soiling to the fore-edge of the text block. In a dust jacket, with rubbing to the panels, and a couple of 3" scratches and tiny open surface nick to the rear panel. Inscribed by Edward Abbey, in the year of publication, on tipped-in front free endpaper: "To ____ - best regards! Edward Abbey, SLC 11/29/88." Abbey considered Fool's Progress to be his magnum opus and completed it not long before his death.
